Please note: package prices are for a wake set up at an HDB void deck or pavilion. For a wake at a private residence, the tentage is quoted separately after an on-site measurement, as every space is different. For a wake held at a funeral parlour, the parlour rental is billed separately by the parlour. Whatever the venue, we always explain the full cost to you clearly before anything is confirmed.

The full Taoist arrangement, end to end

The Taoist Graceful Tribute package includes:

  • Collection and transfer of the deceased
  • Professional embalming and make up by a female embalmer
  • Superior half glass polished casket
  • Void deck enclosure, curtains and carpet around the casket area, with fans and lighting
  • Tables and chairs, fully draped in cloth and seat covers
  • Flower arrangement at the altar table
  • Photo enlargement, one enlarged photo and six passport sized photos, with a floral photo frame
  • Condolence book and pen, safe box and LED altar lamp
  • Taoist chanting: one priest at the encoffining, three to five priests through the final night, one priest on the funeral day and one priest before the cremation

One priest chants at the encoffining, three to five priests chant through the final night, and a priest chants on the funeral day and before the cremation, so the rites are observed properly at every key moment.

What paper offerings are included?

The joss paper and paper effigies burned during the rites, including a funeral lantern, guardian angels, an 8ft paper house, an 8ft paper car, a clothing chest and a paper safe, with a metal cage for the burning.

What is the difference between the 3, 5 and 7 day packages?

The difference is the number of days the wake is held, which families choose by custom or the guidance of the priest. The same complete setup and rites apply across each duration, over the number of days you choose.

Can the Taoist wake be held at an HDB void deck?

Yes. The prices are for a wake set up at an HDB void deck or pavilion, and we handle the void deck booking, the enclosure and the full setup. A wake at a funeral parlour is also possible, where the parlour rental is billed separately by the parlour.
